Namal College will intake students in three programs for the academic year 2011-12:
While the exact policy may be revised from time to time as required, the overriding principle will be that of open-merit without any bias of gender, race, religion, ethnicity. There is also no age limit for applicants, as long as they are deemed to be medically fit to undertake a 4-year course of study.
The ASC reserves the right to synthesize the above principles into a detailed admission policy.
The eligibility criteria for various programs is as under:

| BEng Electrical & Electronic Engineering | The applicant must have one of the following qualifications:
- HSSC (Pre-Engineering) with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and at least 60% overall marks.
- 2. 3 A-levels in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (C or above grade in Mathematics and Physics)
- Three year polytechnic diploma (DAE) in relevant discipline securing at least 60% marks.

| BEng Software Engineering | The applicant must have one of the following qualifications:
- HSSC withMathematics, Physics, and any one of Chemistry or Computer Science, and at least 60% overall marks.
- 3 A-levels in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or Computer Science (C or above grade in Mathematics and Physics).
- Three year polytechnic diploma (DAE) in relevant discipline securing at least 60% marks.

| BSc (HONS) Computer Science |
The applicant must have one of the following qualifications:
- HSSC with Mathematics, and at least 60% overall marks.
- 3 A-levels with one being Mathematics (C or above grade in Mathematics)
- Three year polytechnic diploma (DAE) in relevant discipline securing at least 60% marks.

For students whose results are not available at the time of admission, they will be admitted provisionally on their previous exam (e.g. First year of Intermediate), and they will have to provide the results before the end of their first term. Such students will also need to sign an undertaking that they expect to get above 60% marks aggregate and that they will forfeit their admission and deposited dues if they fail to achieve 60% marks.
If the student later fails to clear the eligibility criteria, or fails to provide the final result by the end of first term, he/she will be removed from the college, and deposited fees will not be refunded.
The students clearing the eligility criteria will be invited to take the admission test at designated locations.
The merit will be made by assigning weightage as follows:

| Entry test (Physics and Maths) | 50% |
The admission test will be composed of following sections [subject to change –
please see website for latest updates]:
1. Mathematics and Analytical Reasoning – 40 MCQs
2. Physics – 20 MCQs
3. English
Only the result of the Mathematics and Physics section will be used in calculating the 50% marks for entry test merit calculations. However, students will need to pass the English section to be considered in the merit list.
The physics portion of entry test will not carry any weightage for students being considered for BSc Computer Science.
The following admission schedule will be followed for admissions in Fall 2011.

- Namal College Open day: 21st February (tentative)
- Last date for receipt of: Application forms; Application processing fees; Financial assistance forms; Financil assistance application processing fees

- Entrance test at Lahore/Islamabad/Karachi/Namal College Mianwali: 9th July 2011 (Saturday) – 03:00 PM to 06:00 PM
- Announcement of results (on-line); 1st Merit List: 15th July 2011
- Last date to deposit Admission fees to secure seat (deposit slip will have to be submitted to Admission office by this date. Scanned copies can be emailed): 25th July 2011
- Last date for depositing first installment of tuition fees: 15th September 2011
- Commencement of Classes: 20th September 2011
Admission forms have to be submitted by post or in person, and the application processing fees of Rs. 1000 will be charged.
The financial assistance forms has an additional processing fees of Rs. 1000.
PROGRAM-WISE ADMISSION
While it is expected that certain programs have more demand than others, there is no defined priority for any program as such. As many students will be given 1st priority as possible.
