We feel proud to announce that Prof. Dr. Nasir-ud-Din Gohar has joined Department of Electrical Engineering as a Professor. Prof. Gohar did his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the prestigious Imperial College, London UK in 1993. His areas of research focus have been Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, and VLSI CAD.
He completed his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from UET, Lahore in 1981. He did M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from UET, Lahore in 1986 to be followed by yet another M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder, USA. Dr. Gohar has vast and diversified experiences in research, academic & administrative disciplines both in government and private sectors. He has been associated with Pakistan WAPDA for 14 years in various positions and lastly served as Senior Engineer (Telecom) at WAPDA Load Dispatch Centre, Islamabad. He, also, served SEC-West as Telecom Consultant for six years in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He switched over to academia in 2000 and served for almost five years in Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute as Dean of Faculty of Electronic Engineering. Later on, he served SEECS, NUST for a decade as Professor and Head of Information & Communication Systems Engineering Department. He, also, served the University of Management Technology, Lahore as the Dean of School of Systems & Technology for more than a year. Before joining Namal College he was serving as Head of Electrical Engineering Department of Muslim Youth University, Islamabad.
We welcome Dr. Gohar to the fold of Namal family and believe that his wonderful addition to Namal faculty would inspire the entire academia to achieve the milestone of establishing Namal College as a leading engineering institute in Pakistan.
